Continental Tire the Americas, LLC (CTA, formerly Continental General Tire) is headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina and is a subsidiary of Continental AG. CTA acquired General Tire in 1987.

These manufacturing plants produce approximately one-third of the Continental Corporation's total passenger and commercial tires. Continental is a major supplier to the original equipment and replacement tire markets, selling Continental, General, Euzkadi and private brands in NAFTA. Sales in North America include:
CTA supplies passenger car tires to original equipment customers that include BMW, Ford, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Toyota and Volkswagen.
