Continental Signs First Canadian Retreader

  • Quebec retreader is licensed to sell ContiTread retreads for greater Montreal area

Fort Mill, South Carolina, March 31, 2014. Montreal area retreader Pneus et Rechapage Uni, Inc. has become the first retreader in Canada to obtain a license for Continental Tire the Americas, LLC’s ContiTreads™.

Continental said today that Pneus et Rechapage Uni has begun retreading truck tires with ContiTread brand flat precure treads at its facility in Richmond, Quebec. Pneus et Rechapage Uni will be supplying any authorized Continental truck tire dealers throughout eastern Canada with ContiTread retreads.

According to Pierre Dodier, general manager, Continental’s offering for retreaders is attractive because it allows customization for each facility’s special needs. “Continental’s sales staff, as well as its dedicated retread engineers, provided us with guidance every step of the way and met our needs as a retreader,” Dodier said. “The Continental family of truck tires, especially its regional and traction products, sets them apart from other tire manufacturers. Now we are proud to set ourselves apart from other retreaders by being the first to offer their ContiTreads in Canada.”

Continental continues to expand its ContiLifeCycle truck tire product offering. The company now provides ContiTreads in a wide variety of long haul, regional and construction patterns that match the tread designs and performance of its new truck tires. Three of its ContiTread products are verified for low rolling resistance by the U.S. EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership.

Area fleets and media are invited to the grand opening celebration planned at Pneus et Rechapage Uni on the evening of April 15, 2014; 630 Desmarais Street, Richmond, Quebec, J0B 2H0. Please RSVP to contiquebec@conti-na.com or by phone to Patrick Lachance, 514-825-8473.
